Marshmallow Peep Baby

This should be considered a PSA.

Dear family and friends -

As you may have heard, we are having a girl!  We are very excited, and we know that you all are too.  We have already been gifted some adorable girl clothes, and we thank you for those.

As the time nears for the baby to arrive, and we'll surely be receiving more gifts (which we appreciate), we just wanted to let you know our thoughts on clothing choices for our daughter.  Remember - this is a human baby, not a marshmallow Peep.

So to ensure that your clothing choices are received in good spirits and don't go straight to the give-away bag, here are some parameters (c'mon people, don't be too surprised here):

1. Not too much pink.  They do make baby girl clothes in colors other than Pepto Bismol.

2.  No writing, or limited writing, if you can help it.  Things like "Daddy's Little Princess" won't make it past the front door.  The only writing that is appreciated is "Atlanta Braves", "Chicago Cubs", "WVU Mountaineers", or "Pepperdine Waves".

3.  Dresses for babies aren't practical.  Summer rompers or sundresses are acceptable because they are cute and actually make sense for the weather given this thing called Climate Change that the Pope mentioned recently.  Dolls scare me, and babies in fluffy dresses look like dolls.

4.  No headbands.  We'll know she's a girl.

5.  No animal print.  ...This should pretty much go without saying...
